IQ Best Practice for Broadband Outages
IQ Best Practice for Broadband Outages
If SalonIQ or your internet/broadband has performance issues, it can be frustrating and potentially impact taking any payments and creating appointments. It is always a good idea to have a plan in place should this ever occur.
SalonIQ have a dedicated backup version of your appointment book, this is a safety measure we have in place in the rare event that SalonIQ has an outage. The backup system will enable you to view the appointment book and continue a great client experience.
How do I access the backup system?
Go to https://backup.saloniq.co.uk/ and enter your normal username and password.
You will be able to view client appointments coming in for the day, see who is looking after them, check service prices, notes and much more. This is a READ ONLY version, any changes you make on the back-up version of your account will NOT show in your live system.
Appointments
- Appointment Page - Print or save your appointment page at the end of the day ready for the next working day.
- Day Sheets - Print or save day sheets for each Team Member. The day sheet will show all appointments for that day, client history and any colour notes they have on their record card.
Payments
- Cash Machine - Have knowledge to where your nearest cash machine is.
- Payment Link - Advise the client that you will send them a payment link to pay for their service. Once broadband is back on, go to the checkout screen and choose send payment link. The client can then click on this link to make their payment.
- Telephone Payments - Contact clients once you have access to SalonIQ again and manually take a payment over the phone. You can do this by taking the client to check out and pressing the stripe payment type.
End Of Day
- Ensure you have collected all missed payments before closing the salon
- Cash up as normal
- Set a task for the next day to chase any anomalies
Internet Outage
Should your broadband go down in the salon, you can follow the below steps.
- Hotspot your phone - If you have a 4G or 5G phone, you can hotspot this Wi-Fi connection onto your salon’s computer. To do this on your phone enable hotspot, once this is done you should then see your phone as an available network on your Wi-Fi.
- Contact Your Broadband Provider - Contact your broadband provider, ask for an ETA on when the issue will be fixed
- SalonIQ Phone App - If the team have access to SalonIQ on their phone they can check in and take payments as normal using their 4G or 5G network.
On extremely rare occasions, SalonIQ may encounter a service disruption. In the unlikely event of such an occurrence, our goal is to restore your salon's operations within 15 minutes.
