This article will run through how to set up Google Analytics
Step 1 - Create you Google Analytics account
- Visit https://accounts.google.com/signin/v2/identifier?service=analytics&passive=1209600&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fanalytics.google.com%2Fanalytics%2Fweb%2F%23&followup=https%3A%2F%2Fanalytics.google.com%2Fanalytics%2Fweb%2F&flowName=GlifWebSignIn&flowEntry=ServiceLogin
- You will need to have a Google account to do this (eg an email for @gmail.com)
- Go to Admin > Property settings > Tracking info > Tracking code - copy this tracking code as you will need to paste it into your SalonIQ later.
STEP 2 - Enable Ecommerce
- Enable both Ecommerce & Enhanced Ecommerce by going to Admin > View settings > Ecommerce settings (these will initially appear as 'off' so you will just need to switch them both 'on')
STEP 3 - Adding custom dimensions
- Admin > Custom definitions > Custom dimensions > New custom dimension > You will need to create 4 and name them the following:
1. Salonname
2. Purchase
3. Teammember
4. Widget
STEP 4 - Add tracking ID onto Hub
- Main menu > Settings > Global settings > Analytics > Google Analytics tracking ID > Paste your tracking ID in here > Switch on Enable custom dimension indices > Add the indices into the correct fields > Save.
If you are a multi site salon you will need to create an account for each salon with its own independent tracking ID.
You will then need to enter each individual salon's tracking ID into Salon Settings on SalonIQ. (Main menu > Settings > Salons > Details)
This will override anything setup in Global Settings as multisite salons will not have access to this.
