Google Analytics 4 - How to set up in SalonIQ
Google Analytics 4 Setup Guide
How to dd your GA4 and Facebook ID
What is Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is Google's latest website analytics platform. It helps you understand how visitors interact with your website and online booking page, allowing you to measure the success of your marketing.
Unlike older versions of Google Analytics, GA4 uses event-based tracking, meaning it records actions that users take, such as visiting a page or completing a booking.
How do I add my GA4 and Facebook ID to SalonIQ
To add your google analytics to SalonIQ Menu>Setting>Global>Analytics
Enter your GA4 and Facebook Pixel ID

If you have multiple salons and use a different GA4 property for each location, you can add each one in salon settings. Menu > Settings > Salons > Smart Marketing.
If a GA4 ID is added in Salon Settings, it will override the GA4 ID in Global Settings.
You'll also need to create a thank you page on your website and configure your online booking to redirect clients to this page once their booking is complete.
This page is used by Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to record a successful booking as a conversion, allowing you to accurately track completed online bookings within your analytics reports.
To add in your thank you page go to Menu > Settings > Online > Booking Portal

How to Find Your Measurement ID
- Sign in to Google Analytics.
- Select your GA4 Property.
- Click Admin.
- Under Property, select Data Streams.
- Open your Website Data Stream.
- Copy the Measurement ID shown in the top right.

What Happens Once It's Connected?
After your Measurement ID has been added, GA4 will begin collecting information from your website and online booking system.
Depending on your configuration, GA4 may record events such as:
- Page Views
- Session Start
- User Engagement
- Booking Journey Started
- Booking Completed
- Purchase
Please note that some reports can take up to 24 hours before data begins to appear.
GA4 tracking uses only your default pricing, not team member pricing.
Facebook Pixel How Facebook Pixel Works
When someone visits your website or online booking page, the Meta Pixel records actions (known as events) such as:
- Viewing the booking page
- Selecting a service
- Starting the booking process
- Completing a booking
- Making a purchase
These events are sent to your Meta Business account.
Meta then uses this information to:
- Measure which adverts generate bookings
- Optimise adverts to find people most likely to book
- Build remarketing audiences
- Calculate your Return on Ad Spend (ROAS)
Example:
- A client clicks your Facebook advert.
- They visit your booking page.
- They complete a £120 booking.
- The Pixel records the booking.
- Meta attributes that conversion back to your advert.
