What is Proximity User

This security function uses your location to provide additional access to users when in the salon

Salon IQ is a cloud system, this means it can be accessible from anywhere with the correct security set-up, this can be a risk to the business as the system contains commercially sensitive data, proximity user is an added security feature that means a user will only be able to access the system if they are in the salon.

To setup proximity user you will need to go to Security > Users > Select the user >  User Roles

Turn on Proximity User

Press Save Changes

You will then need to check and ensure that the Geo Location is set in your system, to do this go to Menu > Settings > Salons > Details

Your salon address should be showing on this screen, if it isn't you will need to add the address and then press the update button next to the Geo Location

Press save

Your location for the salon has been set on the system. If you have multiple salons you will need to do this for each salon , to access the details for additional salons select the next salon from the drop down menu

The user can then log in to Salon IQ on there personal device

If Location services are enabled on the device on the first login after proximity user is setup you will receive the following message

1000000907

You will need to allow Salon IQ to access your location.

if the user is not within 100 meters of the Geo location or the location services on the device are not enabled the user will receive the following message 

1000000906

If location services are disabled on the device these will need to be enabled, please check the help guide for your device.

The user will not be able to log in if proximity user is enabled on the user profile and the location settings are not setup on the device.

If you have a team member that works at multiple locations, Proximity user will only work for one salon.
