How to set up skin Testing

This guide explains how to set up and manage Skin Testing in SalonIQ, so your team can safely record, track, and monitor client tests.

How to set up your skin test dates

To enter the salons Skin Test frequency go to:

Menu > Settings > Salons > Skin Test 

Enter the number of days in which you need to do a skin test. Example, if you require a skin test every 6 months you would enter 180 days. Toggle the In-Salon skin test aleart to green.

An alert will appear when booking a client’s appointment if they do not have a valid skin test.

How to enable services for skin tests

Menu > Settings > Services > Open Service 

Switch the “Skin test required” toggle to green, then click Save. Repeat this for every service that requires a skin test.

How to update client skin tests

When an appointment is created, if the client doesn’t have a valid skin test date, this will appear as an exclamation mark (!) on the appointment page.

To update a client’s skin test, click on their appointment and select  'Show more'. You’ll then see the 'Skin test' button. Click this and enter the date the skin test is valid until.

You can also update a client’s skin test from their client record card by going to the **Details** tab and editing the 'Last skin test' field.

How to auto update client skin tests

If you have a regular client who comes in frequently and you want their skin test date to auto-update after every appointment, go to Menu > Settings > Global > Bookings and switch the 'Auto Update Skin Tests' toggle to green.

This is a global setting. If the auto skin test option is enabled and you have multiple salons, it will apply to all locations.

 

How to set up skin tests for online booking

If you would like to prevent any clients booking online without a valid skin test. Go to Menu > Settings > Global > Bookings > togge on green Enable skin test check.

If the clients skin test is not valid, the below message will show to ask the client to contact the salon to make their booking.

 

This is a global setting. If the auto enable skin test check option is enabled and you have multiple salons, it will apply to all locations.

How to create online skin test questinaires 

If you’d prefer clients to complete an online questionnaire when booking, go to: Menu > Settings > Salons > Skin Test.

Click 'Add Question', then enter your question in the description box. Select the correct answer required to proceed with the online booking. If the client selects an incorrect answer, they’ll be prompted to contact the salon to make their booking. You’ll also receive an email notification confirming that the client attempted to book online but couldn’t proceed because a skin test is required.
