How to add tips onto transactions

Learn how to add tips onto client transactions at checkout

The first thing you will need to do is activate the Sundries option on Salon IQ, to do this Main Menu > Settings > Sundries > Enable Sundries > Switch toggle to green

Once the toggle is green you can add a New Sundry by clicking the green tab at the top right corner

Please complete the required information boxes in red

You can call this either "Tips" or "Gratuities" for example

Once complete, press save. If you are a multi-site group, please select the salons you want to add Tips for.

Please now select Refresh from your Main Menu

 


Now that the Sundry has been added, you will notice a new icon on the top of your task bar, this is the Sundries option you have created.

When checking out a client and they wish to leave a tip, check them out as normal.

You will notice at the option tabs along the bottom now includes Sundries. If the client wishes to leave a tip, please click on the Sundries tab.

Select the tips from the option on screen, this will add the tips onto the transaction screen

Click on the £0.00 within the Price column and enter the amount of tips the client wishes to leave

You can see the tips have been added to the balance of the transaction.

If the client wishes to pay the tip using cash, just split the payment types. 

 


To review tips, go to Main Menu > Reports > Team > Sundries

Once you have selected the Sundries Sold Report, enter a date range for you to see what tips have been left within a specified time frame

This report will show

  • The Date Range the tips were left
  • The client who left the tips
  • The Team Member
  • The amount
